Introduced in 2025, the NYFEST Force of Nature Award honors an individual whose impact extends far beyond the pitch.

This award recognizes someone who leads with generosity, builds meaningful community, and works tirelessly to uplift the underserved, the disengaged, and sometimes the disenchanted. A Force of Nature puts people first — channeling their energy into creative storytelling, inclusive spaces, and ideas that make the world feel more connected, more inspired, and more supportive.

Our inaugural recipient, Sonia Machado-Hines, embodies this spirit. Her commitment to fostering community and amplifying powerful stories set the tone for what this award represents: heart, action, and lasting impact.
